I told the owner no hard feeling but it would be a terrible idea for me to have any involvement with a project and that builder, both for me and the homeowner. I said I could ha d over my work to another architect with a release or liability letter. The homeowner agreed. The builder sent me an email informing me i could t do that. I called him to say I could, I am, and to leave me alone he said he would punch me in the fucking face if he ever sees me again and I’m a pussy for walking away (even though I’m in agreement with the one who hired me, the owner.
Here have a beer

Civility is a lost cause.

Ridiculous. I don’t understand what that person was thinking.
I’ve thought insulting things that are unfounded about my co workers (in truth who hasn’t) but it’s certainly not a feeling that should be externalized.

Sounds like the builder is used to emotionally abusive relationships. Good thing that you found a way out that you were comfortable with. Enjoy your well-deserved beer.

I’m guessing for professional reasons you can’t share the email to everyone in the industry he might ever work with? Or at least leave an honest review on all online platforms?

Sounds like many builder s’ reactions when they hear the word “no” based on my personal experience.
That’s how you know you made the right call.

Absolutely. The the threats and anger were something I've never experienced like this. Somewhat unnerving.

They are coming somewhat the norm for me especially post-Covid shutdown. I no longer post about shittier clients, as it would be more noteworthy if I went a week without an incident.

People sometimes don’t want to be professional, though....
I sometimes even calm nerves during long bilateral meetings.
I have a whatsapp group with all the people on the team I belong to... I remember this one person kept rejecting a proj
ect for the sake of being firm and we all had to tell him “dude chill” cus the other side was about to like, fucking go in flames or something.
Ahh, offices.

I replied to your previous thread, and was in the minority that suggested telling him to insert a pineapple into his ass. Ive worked off and on in the construction industry with many different contractors, some good, some awful, and I could tell this was coming. Glad its over and done with.
And for what its worth my “coworkers” (people from my agency whom I don’t normally work with but am doing a favor for by covering this test) managed to push 2 of my biggest buttons today - telling me Im wrong about something I do/have done professionally and they have not, and number 2, ask me for advice, ignore said advice, and then get pissy with me when things don’t work out.

While telling him to shove it was probably what he needed, I’m looking ok and he is digging his own hole.
Those buttons they pushed are big buttons especially the second one.

It sounds like things are working out, glad to hear it.
